CANDLE ART

Wax is such a fascinating thing.. as a child I was always perplexed by the concept of a candle melting into wax. I sat & stared at my mothers lovely candles day after day. We all know that everyone of us as a child stuck our fingers in flaming hot wax and would make a mold of our finger. As I came to learn a few months ago I was the only one that would keep the finger molds. I had a shoe box that I lined with toliet paper and would keep every fingers replica that I made. I carefully wrapped each one so they would keep the scent and not break or stick to each other. I kept this box behind the entertainment center in the family room so no one could find it. Little did I know that my father knew what was going on the whole time and felt the need to share my hidden guilty pleasure with my friends just a few short months ago and since then they have never let me forget it and now it is something we joke about on a daily basis. In the process of creating this blog i was googling "wax fingers" and Sarah was reading over my shoulder, when nothing came up under wax fingers when I thought Sarah wasnt looking I typed in "candle art" she glanced and said something along the lines of I dont think wax fingers goes in the catergory of "candle art'' .

Now in honor of her here is a little of Sarah's candle art!

Back in September when I was living in Provo I had a candle lit on the second shelf of my book shelf, Sarah was paroozing my room and saw the candle before she looked to see if it was lit or anything she ripped it from above and scaulding wax went every where. She wasnt burned in the process of this candle art thank the high heavens, but now its just a great addition to our candle art novel we are writing.
